Family History Club

    The OLLI Family History Club will have regularly scheduled meetings at 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on alternate Mondays in Shapiro CD of Spring semester, 2012 (Jan. 30, Feb. 13, 27 Mar. 12, Apr. 2)

The only way to get on the mailing list and entered into the Database for our Genealogy Club is to provide some information about your genealogical interests and experience by completing the following "Family History Survey" (if you have already received this survey by email and or you have previously submitted the completed form, it is not necessary to resubmit).  To see the current list of names in our email database click HERE.

Hints for More effective Research

This presentation gives ideas for maximizing research before you go to a repository, when you are there, and after you come home. The talk intersperses specific examples along with practical ideas. 

Linda Serna has been involved with genealogy in researching and writing family stories for 30 years. Currently, she is am a member of the Southern California Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists (SCCAPG), the Genealogical Speakers Guild (GSG), the Polish Genealogical Society (PGS-CA), and the Genealogical Society of Hispanic America (GSHA-CA) as well as being Vice President of Programs for the Orange County California Genealogical Society (OCCGS).

Over the last several years, Linda has written and given several presentations on various topics for different groups in Southern California and New Mexico, as well as teaching the Intermediate/Advanced class at the Orange County California Genealogical Society twice a year. 

 “Always Remember:  Genealogists are the soul that keeps the family of man connected.”
