Post-doctoral research associate
My research focuses on the ecology and evolution of emerging viral zoonoses. I'm interested in the interactions between viruses, their hosts and their environment, and the consequences of anthropogenic changes on disease emergence in wild and domestic animals as well as in human populations. Specifically, I worked on diverse aspects related to the ecology, epidemiology and molecular evolution of Influenza A viruses in wild and domestic birds.
I currently work as a post-doctoral research associate at the “Center for research on emerging diseases in the Indian Ocean” (CRVOI). My research aims at characterizing bat and bird virus diversity and identifying potential host-virus specialization processes, in the islands of the South-Western Indian Ocean (La Réunion, Mauritius, Madagascar, Comoros and the Seychelles).
