Ordinands

Most of the awards we make are by way of book grants to ordinands in training. The aim is to assist them in assembling a library of theological books which will have lasting value, and which will be useful for life-long study and reference.

Applicants must be committed to a traditional understanding of the catholic priesthood and the historic episcopate. Applications from ordinands cannot be considered until they have been in training for at least a term. Those to whom a grant is made may apply for a further grant in each subsequent year of training.

The Fund is not able to offer grants towards the financial support of a candidate’s spouse or children.

Applications are considered four times a year. The cut-off dates in 2012 are:
Monday 9 January, 16 April, 2 July and 17 September

The Trustees are not required to give reasons for refusing to make a grant to any applicant, and the Clerk will not enter into any correspondence about this.

If a book grant is made, it will lapse if not taken up within six months.
