Founded in 1970, to save Clare County's first school building, our Society's mission is to preserve, advance, and disseminate knowledge of the history of Clare County and surrounding area.

Our museum complex consists of the Clare County Historical Museum the historic Dover on-room school and the restored Ott log cabin (once home to 18 people!)

We are located at 7050 Eberhart Rd. at the corner of Dover Rd. north of Clare. Admission is free. Email questions to museum@clarecountyhistory.org.
