HEATHER WATSON is perhaps best known in alternative media circles as the creator of
Civixen, a humorous editorial that for four years was the core political column in The Nerve Magazine and Terminal City, respectively.
After an early start as a community newspaper columnist at the age of
eight, Heather has continued working in a variety of media, serving as
acting editor of Terminal City earlier in 2005, and contributing the lead essay to the Time Out Vancouver guide book. In addition to a few years at Vancouver's
éminence grise of independent bookstores, Duthie
Books, some of her more surreal side jobs have included voice-over and
motion capture for a video game and six years spent hand modeling in
toy commercials. Besides juggling a host of freelance and consulting projects, Heather
is currently hard at work updating her blog, Civixen.
