City Academy High School
The nation's first charter school
City Academy High School is located on the East Side of St. Paul in the Wilder Recreation Center. City Academy was established to meet the growing need for academic programming aimed at young adults seeking a small school with small classes, which would enable them to have productive and meaningful roles within the community. All program offerings are tailored to individual student needs, based on academic assessment and performance. The majority of the classes are held in the City owned Wilder Recreation Center. Classes are also held at satellite locations, such as the Phalen Lake Boat House (pictured below), to strengthen communication and connections between the students, the school and the community.
