Student Blogs

Online student newspaper:

CIS 339 Hardline

Selected student blogs:

Gisselle
Gisselle demonstrates a strong command of focus in her posts.  She also has a clear and consistent blog voice, which is situation appropriate and distinct from her formal writing.

Shaqueen
Shaqueen’s strength is elaboration.  She posts frequently and with great detail.  Her eagerness to express herself comes through in her voice during her meticulous summaries.  She also demonstrates a solid understanding of the blog post structure, beginning with a summary of her reading followed by her response to the reflection prompt.

Aboubacarr
Aboubacarr’s blog reads like a history of our past two units.  His posts over the last month demonstrate our use of blogs as reading reflection journals, and his work from the month prior shows how we used blogs to transform our students into media critics.  Perhaps the most impressive element of this blog is its voice because Aboubacarr is a child who literally refuses to speak in class.  He has found an outlet in his blog, and for his teachers it is truly encouraging.
