Cinergy Guidelines for Staying Healthy This Winter

The swine flu seems to be everywhere these days, and over 4,000 Americans have already died from this virus.“Cinergy Health has created a guide so Americans will know how to protect themselves from this pandemic.”

There are several steps you can take to lower your risk of contracting the H1N1 virus (swine flu.) Cinergy Health, presents the following five simple steps to take to protect yourself and your family from this illness.

1.    Get vaccinated against the H1N1 virus in addition to the seasonal flu virus. Both vaccines are safe and can be administered at the same time. This is a very important precaution which will go a long way to preventing the further spreading of the disease.

2.    Wash your hands often, and do not touch your face. Use soap and water, or a hand sterilizer that has at least 60% ethyl alcohol. Before eating be sure to wash your hands thoroughly, for at least 20 seconds. This is especially important.

3.    Do not go to work or school as soon as you feel any flu-like symptoms. Call your doctor right away.

4.    Be considerate! Cough into a tissue or the crook of your arm. Help prevent the spread of the flu.

5.    Only after you have been without a fever for at least 24 hours is it safe to go back to work or school. Swine flu is most contagious while exhibiting a fever.
