Sow Yee received her MFA degree from the San Francisco Art Institute, U.S.A. She is a film installation and film performance artist currently based in Kuala Lumpur. She works with film strips and film projectors as an organic element in space and ambience. Her works often times connected with projected light and now is in the process of exploring the possibilities of video installation. She is a recipient of the Krishen Jit Astro Fund and is the 2007 artist in residence of Taipei Artist Village. Sow Yee has also been active recently making video installations for theatre performances in Malaysia.
