Pastor Linda Petrucelli
"Jesus once said that he didn’t come to be served but to serve and to give his life for others (Mark 10:45). I believe Jesus’ selfless servanthood is the basis of all Christian ministry, whose way of serving leads those being served to want to become servants themselves. Maybe you have met such a person in your life—whose attitude of assistance, whose way of helping you, didn't weaken you but made you stronger—made you want to roll up your sleeves and go to work, too. This is the powerful persuasion of Jesus’ servant’s heart and is the model I aspire to in my ministry.” Sermon: God So Loved the World (Photo: Taiwanese Fishermen) Pastor Linda working in Taiwan (1986) http http://kiwi6.com/file/484xamfe45 http://k004.kiwi6.com/hotlink/484xamfe45/sermon2012_0422_an_emmaus_education.mp3 http://kiwi6.com/file/3uc9s4rwat http://k003.kiwi6.com/hotlink/3uc9s4rwat/sermon2012_0415_opening_closed_doors.mp3 .mp3 | Recent Sermons Instructions: Click on the title of the sermon listed below to open that sermon and listen to it over your computer. Some of our worst moments are some of our best teachers. And then what? God is likely to prompt us to the next "right" step. Acts 9:1-6; Luke 24:13-31 Do you face locked doors? Christ returns to us to open our way. The best news you'll ever hear, and here's why. 1 Cor 15:1-11; Mark 16:1-8 "Hosanna" means "Please Save Us". What do you want God to save you from? To Believe in Jesus is to believe that God loves the whole world . . . Each one of us. John 3 Laugh; because nothing is too wonderful for God. Don't give up hope for yourself or hope for the world. Genesis 17 Mark 1:9-15 harbors the pivotal experience of what it means to be a Christian and be a Christian church: God sends us out into the unknown, where God's purpose can be realized through us. The spiritual high point, the mountaintop experience, the great sermon and worship time: What really matters is what happens next, what results in true life changes. Jesus encountered many who needed the touch of the healer. We are surrounded by a world waiting to be touched by us. Sometimes, even Jesus needed to get away for a while to clear his thinking and refocus. Sometimes, we need the same opportunity. The lessons we've learned from good teachers and bad . . . Christ teaches with a singular power. Second Chances: We all need them from time to time. We need to be ready to offer others another chance. God, too, will offer us the mercy of another chance. When you look at the world, do you see wreckage, or do you see potential? How does God look at us, our church, or the Hamakua Coast? And our world . . . ? In the story of Epiphany, we're told that the wise men first thought that Jerusalem was their destination. But, the work of God had already begun in a small town nine miles away. |
