Our Pastor




Reverend Linda Petrucelli  

Reverend Linda Petrucelli is a long-time resident of Hawai`i Island.  She started as our Settled Pastor on November 12, 2011, but came as a well-known and loved minister thanks to previous service she's given to our families and various communities on the Big Island.  

She is a graduate of Coe College, Yale University Divinity School and Chicago Theological Seminary.

Before coming to Hilo Coast UCC, Pastor Linda served in other cross-cultural settings - as a missionary to exploited fishery workers in Taiwan and then coordinating global relief, disaster and development ministries for the United Church of Christ's Board for World Ministries.  Following our island's 2006 earthquake, she counseled at-risk elderly and low-income individuals on behalf of the local faith community, FEMA and the American Red Cross. 



Pastor Linda leads worship in a manner that balances the contemporary and the traditional.  She speaks to us with wisdom and compassion.  Her energy and insight is a good match for the energy of our congregation. Reverend Linda Petrucelli has 
ministered and lived on the Big Island for many years. We are truly excited about what we can accomplish together!  Welcome, Pastor Linda!

Our primary experience on Sunday mornings has always been to focus on God and worship the One who sustains us and guides our growth to closer relationship with God and each other.  We have seats availa
ble, so please come and join us.  

As a congregation, we're energized and excited about the weeks ahead!  The best things we accomplish in this life are the things we do together.  There's a place for you here and in God's plans.

I believe Jesus’ selfless servanthood is the basis of all Christian ministry, whose way of serving leads those being served to want to become servants themselves. Maybe you have met such a person in your life—whose attitude of assistance, whose way of helping you, didn’t weaken you but made you stronger—made you want to roll up your sleeves and go to work, too. This is the powerful persuasion of Jesus’ servant’s heart and is the model I aspire to in my ministry.
