Beginners Class for Practicing the Ancient Egyptian Religion

The Beginners Class for Practicing the Ancient Egyptian Religion will be held starting in the spring of 2011. The classes will cover the different ritual elements, amulets and talismans, chanting, mudras and more. There will be approximately 10 class sessions, one per month during the weekend (to be determined).  Open for enrollment.  Inquire at cesoregon@yahoo.com to find out more information or to enroll.  This is not an online class. Minimum student size is 3.

CES Library

Since receiving the CES library from our late reverend Harold Moss more than 75 new books were added to our library.  In addition to that we are amassing many PDF and Microsoft Word files on ancient Egypt and the religion.  We will be compiling them all in subject matters, and many of them will be available to the public when we are done.

Egyptian Art

An ongoing Egyptian artwork project.  In essence it’s getting ancient Egyptian art and converting and cleaning it up to 8 x 10” black and white, then eventually coloring them.  They will then be used as art work for temples, clothes and other uses.

Mead Making

Reverend Joanna Linsley Poe, High Priestess of Renenutet and Seshat has already produced 2 experimental batches of Mead.  The 1st batch of 1-gallon mead from Raspberry honey produced a semi-sweet mead wine, and the 2nd batch of 1-gallon mead produced from Wildflower honey made a dry relatively high alcohol wine.
Joanna will be producing a larger 3-gallon bath of honey mead wine in 2011.

Up date: A third batch of Mead was started on Feb 13, 2011. it is doing well.

Ancient Foods

Joanna’s blog on ancient foods has been met with an enthusiastic reception.  The blog focus is on ancient foods from around the world.

Renenutet’s Library

The Renenutet Library is dedicated to ancient foods from around the world as well as ethic food (for example Moroccan food goes back for centuries).  The latest additions include the 2-volume work, “Food, the Gift of Osiris” and 2 books on Moroccan food.

Joint Activities of the Temples of Ptah and Renenutet/Seshat

NOTE: On types of activities:

Festivals and Feasts are usually open to the Public and consist of a ceremony/ritual followed by a potluck dinner.  Ritual or Ceremonial:  All ritual with perhaps some appetizers after.  Classes:  Open to the public, donations to class accepted.

Attendance:  Due to the limitation of space in the Temple and the fact that all participates will be take part in some way during the ritual it is generally required that the Temple Staff meet all interested parties (who have never attended a Temple event) at least 1 to 2 weeks prior to the event.

Open to the Public:  Temple space dictates that 6 to 10 people attend a ritual; therefore there is a limitation of how many new people can attend (first to respond will be priority until the spaces are full.  A wait list can be made in case someone cancels).  There may be an occasional event that we hold where more than 10 people will be participating, in that case the ritual will probably be held in another location.
