I have been teaching at Chula Vista High School since October of 2002. I ususally teach AP world history, but I have taught accelerated and regular world history as well as US history. In 2008 I started teaching AP Human Geography. Before coming to CVHS, I taught at Mira Mesa High School from 1993-2002 in several subject areas: ELD, Enlglish, Social Science and Business. I graduated from Indiana University in 1987 witha degree in Communications and minored in Business. I furthered my education with a teaching credential, and received my MS in 1995 from National University. I received National Board Certification in Social Science in 2005. It was my great pleasure to be asked to teach one theory course at San Diego State University where I may someday further my education. I was born in St. Louis, Missouri across from the city's world famous zoo. I grew up from one end of the Midwest to the other; from the plains of Kansas to the rolling hills of Southern Indiana. There are 5 brothers and 5 sisters in my family, and I have a brother named Chip. I claim Santa Claus, IN as my hometown. I graduated high school in 1983 from a school that is located on what was Abraham Lincoln's father's farm. It was there that I knew I wanted to be a History Teacher. My long term goal is to teach at the community college level, but I have taught a graduate class at SDSU, so maybe that is good enough. I am happy teaching at Chula Vista High School. I think the school is well deserving of its many awards as I evidence everyday in the courtesy of our students and staff. It is an ideal working environment for both students and staff. Remember to do the right thing and keep it this way. My Interests are: TRAVEL, reading about history, playing computer strategy games, and of course eating. And did I mention traveling to eat? Definitely traveling to eat.
