02 - Setting Up Your Blog

Begin by viewing this PowerPoint about Web 2.0

2 - Web20.ppt

Web 2.0 gives users greater interconnectivity and social interactions on the Web.  Web 2.0 websites allow users to do more than just retrieve information.  They allow users to create the content of the website instead of just consuming it.

There are five elements to a Web 2.0 website:

  1. Content with style
  2. User participation
  3. Collaboration with other users
  4. Social networking

We will create a web log, or blog, to upload our designs and write occasional journal entries.  This will serve as a web portfolio of our work.  Anyone with an internet connection can see what we’ve been working on in class.

 Assignment

  2. Type in your e-mail and password.  Remember these.  That’s the only way you’ll be able to get back onto your blog.
