Welcome to The Christy Parrott Foundation website!

In June of 2004, the Hideout Mountain playground was built in Florence, MT.  Christy was passionately involved with this community project, helping to raise over $137,000 in five months.  She dreamed of furthering the children's enjoyment of the playground with an additional feature; a water park.

In February of 2005, Christy was diagnosed with a oligoastrocytoma tumor in her brain.  She underwent surgery to remove the tumor.  In February of 2007, her cancer returned.  She was treated with chemotherapy and radiation.  Late in 2009, a MRI scan revealed some questionable areas in her brain.  Christy began to show signs of memory loss and motor skills. She underwent Gamma Knife Radiation treatments in January 2010.  After seeing a specialist in Seattle early in February, she was diagnosed with Gliomatosis Cerebri.  This is a rare, aggressive type of malignant brain tumor, which involves cancerous glial cells that infiltrate various parts of the brain.  Christy underwent a series of strong chemotherapy treatments over several months, but in late April a MRI scan revealed that the treatment had did little and the cancer had spread to different regions of the brain.  Christy fought with all her heart and courage to overcome this disease.  She lost her battle on May 22, 2010.

Christy's friends and family decided to start the process of helping to realize the dream Christy had back in 2004.  The Christy Parrott Foundation has been established to help raise funds to build the water park she wanted for the children of Florence and surrounding areas.  We have envisioned a park similar to the water park in the Whitney Commons Park in Sheridan, WY.
