Broadly speaking, students over the course of this senior VCAL subject, will need to complete a total of 7 out of 8 reading & writing outcomes and 3 oral communication outcomes in order for them to achieve a satisfactory result.

Reading:
(An awereness of the intended audience & the purpose of a text & how it is achieved. Being able to extraact information & identify views. Apply information identified to other texts & compare & contrast texts. Develop an opinion, analyse & evaluate.)
Writing:
(Being able to plan & draft; knowledge of why (purpose) & who (audience)student is writing for. An ability to organise ideas. Longer, complex and more abstract writing. Accurate spelling, punctuation & grammar.)
Oral Communication:
(Being able to use and respond to more complex & absract spoken language. Participate and conduct presentations & discussions; take notes; identify key ideas & points; comment on & evaluate content & effectiveness of what is being communicated.)
