Prayer Walking in LotBo Kanal--Joshua 1:3
Ministries in LotBo Kanal began with the Thompson family prayer walking for 40 days. On Day 1 of the Prayer Walking Journey, Jan found what she thought was a penny on the ground and picked it up and took it home. She soaked it and scraped all the corrosion off of it until she could see the image of Abraham Lincoln. As she was working on it, God spoke to her that the hearts of the people of LotBo Kanal will be just like that penny...covered with corrosion because of the pain in their lives. He told her it will take years and much patience to "scrape" all the layers until the image of their Creator could be seen. That penny is a reminder that it is "In God we Trust" when doing ministry in LotBo Kanal.
Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths."

Kid's Club in LotBo Kanal--Mark 16:15
Every Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m., over 200 dirty, naked and hungry children come running to the church in LotBo Kanal for Kid's Club. We open in prayer, sing some songs, practice Bible verses, and act out Bible stories. As they leave, they are given a chance to invite Jesus into their hearts and we pray with them. Then their team leader hands them a pack of crackers (they are learning to say "thank you") before being dismissed. One very important part of Kid's Club is that the team leaders "touch" each child as they leave and say, "Jezi renmen ou" (Jesus loves you). Such a simple thing...but it is our way of being the hands of Jesus!!

Women's Bible Study in LotBo Kanal--1 Samuel 16:7
Women's Bible Study is every Wednesday and approximately 40-50 women come each week. We have been studying basic principles of Christianity...salvation, forgiveness, love, hope, blessing our enemies, prayer, etc. But we also stress each week that man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at their hearts. (Most churches in Haiti are VERY Pharisee-minded). We try to teach them what a Christian looks like on the inside...not the outside. We are praying for these women to become "new creatures in Christ" (II Cor. 5:17) from the inside out!!
