How to make straight As
In high school, college or graduate school
1. Buy a monthly and daily calendar, like a planner.
2. Read for 50 minutes periods and take a 10 minute break.
3. Study only for 2 hours at a time and then take a longer break (for example, eat a meal or exercise).
4. Take excellent notes.
5. Place an exclamation mark in a circle next to notes that a teacher or professor emphasizes or repeats.
6. Always be on time to class.
7. As you study, make note of your questions. Ask these in the next class.
8. If a textbook contradicts something said in class or confuses you, write this down as a question for next class.
9. Keep a page in your notes "about the professor/teacher" and note special preferences (for example, prefers pencils to pens or neatness rules.)
10. Use a recorder to read notes or book passages. Play these back to yourself during your commutes or walks.
11. Create flashcards for terms and definitions for before-test quick reviews.
12. Always read the assigned reading before the class to maximize your understanding.
13. Study in quiet environments with minimal distractions like the basement or top floor of the library or the quietest room in your home.
