Would you like to learn more about the Amicizia Cristiana and about the spirituality of Fr. Bruno Lanteri, founder of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary? Join us at St. Clement Shrine (1105 Boylston Street, Boston, MA) this Saturday, October 17, for our first Amicizia Cristiana monthly “Formation and Fellowship” gathering. We will attend the 11 am Mass at St. Clements, and at 11:45 adjourn to the front parlor for an hour of discussion about the Amicizia, Fr. Lanteri, and the lay vocation. After that we will head out to lunch for some food and conversation. The format of our regular meetings will be rooted in this quote from the Acts of the Apostles:
“They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers.” (Acts 2:42)
As these words demonstrate, the life of the first Christian community was characterized by four pillars: fidelity to the teachings of the Church, bonds of fellowship among believers, celebration of the Eucharist (“the breaking of the bread”), and community prayer. It is from this model of Christian life that we hope to promote our vision of building fellowship with other Catholics from all vocations who exhibit a fervent desire to attain a deeper understanding of the teachings of the Church in their daily lives and rekindle the activity of Christian friendships.
All are welcome to attend our inaugural meeting this Saturday – we hope to see you there! |
