Amicizia Cristiana Gathering This Saturday at St. Clement Shrine

posted ‎‎Oct 14, 2009 7:39 AM‎‎ by Amicizia Cristiana   [ updated ‎‎Oct 14, 2009 7:41 AM‎‎ ]

Would you like to learn more about the Amicizia Cristiana and about the spirituality of Fr. Bruno Lanteri, founder of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary? Join us at St. Clement Shrine (1105 Boylston Street, Boston, MA) this Saturday, October 17, for our first Amicizia Cristiana monthly “Formation and Fellowship” gathering. We will attend the 11 am Mass at St. Clements, and at 11:45 adjourn to the front parlor for an hour of discussion about the Amicizia, Fr. Lanteri, and the lay vocation. After that we will head out to lunch for some food and conversation. The format of our regular meetings will be rooted in this quote from the Acts of the Apostles:

“They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers.” (Acts 2:42)

As these words demonstrate, the life of the first Christian community was characterized by four pillars: fidelity to the teachings of the Church, bonds of fellowship among believers, celebration of the Eucharist (“the breaking of the bread”), and community prayer.  It is from this model of Christian life that we hope to promote our vision of building fellowship with other Catholics from all vocations who exhibit a fervent desire to attain a deeper understanding of the teachings of the Church in their daily lives and rekindle the activity of Christian friendships.

All are welcome to attend our inaugural meeting this Saturday – we hope to see you there!

International Call for the Rights and Dignity of the Human Person and the Family

posted ‎‎Oct 6, 2009 10:11 AM‎‎ by Cabrini Pak   [ updated ‎‎Oct 6, 2009 10:14 AM‎‎ ]

Visit Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute to sign the petition and find out more. The following was taken from their website:

Help C-FAM Gather 1,000,000 Signatures

In the months leading up to the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the foundational international human rights document, C-FAM discovered that international abortion advocate and provider, Marie Stopes International, was planning on presenting a petition to the UN community calling for Global Safe Abortion and asking states to interpret the UDHR to include abortion as a human right.

C-FAM and allied organizations recognized the need to counter the Marie Stopes International initiative and launched the UN Petition for the Unborn Child and the Family in September 2008 with the aim of presenting the UN with the signature on December 10.
To read and sign the petition just select your language above.

The C-FAM campaign started with the hope of garnering 50,000 signatures. By December 10, we had gathered over 400,000.  C-FAM presented the petition to ambassadors from various states and to the UN community in a press conference at UN headquarters on December 10. Read press release
HERE.

Heartened by the strong response from supporters and the positive feedback from the UN ambassadors that we met with, C-FAM decided to continue the campaign with the goal of presenting 1,000,000 signatures at the next session of the General Assembly.

posted ‎‎Jul 6, 2009 11:00 AM‎‎ by Cabrini Pak

Hi everyone,

As you may know St. Clement Shrine will be going live with 24/7 adoration starting Aug. 15. People have asked about books and good reading to have while at the shrine. AdorationBoston now has a wishlist on Amazon.com:

Anyone who'd like to donate books to the bookcase that will be there for adorers is encouraged to do so. The books will be donated for in-shrine use. Consider purchasing used books - they're much cheaper. We haven't populated the wish list completely yet - but there's also a much more comprehensive listing of books that is also part of the Adoration Boston wishlist - Amicizia Cristiana's goodreads library has hundreds of good books that have been screened by faithful and orthodox theologians and organizations like EWTN, USCCB, Catholic TV, etc.

Here's the link to their profile:
