Getting Married at Christ Church
Here at Christ Church we are delighted to host weddings throughout the year, and our wedding team are always ready to answer questions and help you find out more. As well as the church and the wedding service itself, we are also able to offer the main hall in the Parish Centre for receptions and can cater for the whole event on your special day.
If you would like to ask about getting married at Christ Church, the first step is to contact the Parish Clerk, Jill Walters. She can be contacted via the Parish Office 'phone (01423 530750) and the parish email (christchurch01@btconnect.com). Jill also hosts the Parish Office hour 7 pm - 8 pm every Tuesday, when you can talk through ideas, arrangements and any questions you may have.
Once a provisional booking is made, Jill will keep you up to date with what needs to be done next, and you will be invited to attend the calling on banns in church in the three months before your wedding. We also invite all couples to come to a marriage preparation morning before the wedding - there are normally two each year, both on Saturdays 10 am - 12 noon in the Parish Centre, one in the spring and one in the early summer. They are an informal opportunity to meet the clergy and others getting married at Christ Church, as well as looking at planning the wedding ceremony and lots of opportunities for questions.
Christ Church is a beautiful place to celebrate your wedding. Please contact us if you want to find out more.
