Music is an important part of all the worship at Christ Church - from the Parish Eucharist with full choir to an all age celebration with the instrumental group. Every day at Morning and Evening Prayer simple chant is used to sing the canticles, and we have a regular cycle of concerts.

The Choir sings each Sunday at the 10 am Parish Eucharist, except on the first Sunday of each month and in August. Rehearsals take place every Thursday in term time - 6.30 pm for trebles and 7 pm for full choir. New singers are always welcome. Please simply come along to a practice or contact Christine Alp via the Parish Office (01423 530750).

The Instrumental Group plays at the 10 am All Age Parish Eucharist on the first Sunday of each month. Music is available at least a week in advance (including transpositions for Bb instruments), and the band normally meets at 9 am on the morning of the service to run through the music. 7 October: Trombone Recital - Steve Jones

4 November: Violin Recital by Becky Else, a remarkably gifted local violinist

2 December: Recital by Flutes 4 Fun (group from St Aidan's High School who have won through to the national Festival of Music for Youth finals).

The first recital in th series (9 September) was a spectacular series of piano duets from Janet Frazer and Christine Alp, with the largest audience to date. We are looking forward to Steve's trombone recital with bated breath!
