- Applicants with a bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, education, or related fields: PhD students take ~72 quarter credits for a M.Ed. (plus an ESA school counseling certification) and 66 credits to complete the doctoral courses (min. total 138 credits [quarter]). As a result, students will earn a Ph.D. (counselor education), M.Ed. (school counseling), and an ESA school counseling certification.
- Applicants with a master's degree related to counseling or similar area: PhD students take ~90 quarter credits. Students earn a PhD in school counselor education (ESA certification is optional).
