WWC Releases New Practice Guide: Helping Students Navigate the Path to College

The What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) invites you to look at our newest practice guide, Helping Students Navigate the Path to College: What High Schools Can Do.

This guide recommends five specific steps that educators, administrators and policy makers can take, beginning in 9th grade, to increase access to higher education. Implementation challenges and potential solutions for circumventing the roadblocks are also described, as well as the research evidence that supports these recommendations.

The guide targets high schools and school districts, and focuses on effective practices that prepare students academically for college, assist them in completing the steps to college entry, and improve their likelihood of enrolling in college.
