Click on the small triangle next to the "Extra Credit" in the index list to the left to see the subpages.
Here are some things to remember about extra credit.
- Extra credit should be just that... "EXTRA". This means that the
regular class work and assignments should get your attention first and then
extra time and energy can go towards extra things.
- There is no due date for extra credit. You can do it anytime.
Tasks done and submitted a few days before the end of a unit will probably
count for that unit. If not, it will certainly count for the next unit.
- The maximum that extra credit can bring up your grade is 10%. That
usually means that there is a 10 point limit on extra credit per unit.
This does not include extra credit that is a part of an assignment.
- If you have more than 10 extra credit points for any given unit, those
will flow to the next unit.
- If you have extra credit overflow still left at the end of the school
year, then I will write a letter to your 8th grade science teacher letting
them know. It is up to them if and how they count those points.
- You cannot get, give, buy, or barter extra credit points between people.
- Don't depend on extra credit to save you at the end of the trimester (or
any time). See the first item in this list.
- I try to make a time-to-credit equivalent of about 1 point for every 10
minutes of work. This should apply to all extra credit options.
