Personal Stuff:
The pictures below are of my family at various places over the past few years. The oldest is Hannah. She is fun but serious and very smart. Abbi is the middle one and she is very creative and an avid reader and swimmer. Olivia, the youngest, has a fantastic sense of humor and is very adaptable. As you can tell, I love them each a whole bunch.
The video below is of extreme sailing, which is very popular in Australia and thrills me beyond words. The feel of high wind, choppy waves, and whitewater is the best in the world. As a kid, I spent almost every weekend sailing and I sure wish that these kinds of boats were around back then
I think that putting technology into the hands of kids will revolutionize education. This video hits home for me and I use it as inspiration to write grants, learn new tools, and create lessons that live up to students' potential to create powerful learning through the use of technology tools.
Below is a video that presents some very interesting ideas about education. It is by the well spoken Sir Ken Robinson, and the accompanying animations really help visual thinkers like me to understand it.
I'm hesitant to put a music video on this page because music is such a personal thing. But I just found this song on YouTube and I really like it these days. Some parts are sad and remind me of my mom's death, but other parts and the overall message is very uplifting.
My favorite cartoon is, hands down, Calvin and Hobbes. Aptly named after philosophers, it shows how life is seen through a 6 year old's eyes. Perfect.
