With both of us from a building industry background it was obvious we would be hands on in our working lives.

So back in 1977 we took over a Garden Centre in Kent

From that small beginning we have had 30 years of involvement in the  horticultural , decorating and building industry.

In the early years John would return to the building trade in the winter months. Keeping his hand in. I would be off developing the garden consultancy services.

When we first started Foxgloves and  Delphiniums and cottage gardening was all the rage. After that came an era of more formal gardening. Conifers,  Evergreenshrubs, alpine gardens.  Rockery's and ponds came next.  People then wanted maintenance free gardening, (a bit of a myth really). Mulch ground cover fabric, gravel and container gardening became the fashion.

Meanwhile traditional gardeners still filled ther borders with Petunias Marigolds and Salvias etc. Gradually we found our niche, bespoke hanging baskets and containers. Come the end of May our greenhouses would be filled to bursting with orders waiting to go out. We had really happy times. We grew Shrubs, herbaceous, alpines and bedding and baskets plants plants, Irrigation became a speciality due to need to save water. Over those years we  have amassed a wealth of knowledge in the ever changing horticultural world. 

No one could profess to know it all it is too large a subject but we have 30 years of working within the industry.

In 2006 we decided to sell our business and take some much needed time out. 

A huge thank you to all our loyal customers who returned year after year, many who we think of as friends.
