Today is Veteran's Day. It is a day we should give thanks to the brave men and women who served and serve our country in the time of war. It is because of them that our family's can sleep at night in freedom. People I think of on this day are my father, who served in the Korean Fiasco. His plane was shot down over what is now North Korea and out of thirteen people was the only one to make it out alive. I think about my wife, who served during the First Gulf War supplying ships on their wary to the peninsula. I also think about people I really don't know to well. The mailman at our post office, who got back from Iraq two years ago. Allot of mailmen and mail women are veterans. They have today off. If you see them tomorrow just say, thank you. I also would like to thank all the families that gave up their sons or daughters so that we can be free. It is because of our brave veterans that served our country that we still have the freedom of religion, speech, right to bear arms, and every other freedom that our constitution gives us. Thank you. |
