I found this picture of a rock heart and thought it was pretty cool. I don't know if all these rocks came from the same piece or not. I think the rocks are a type of granite and it is common to have lines of other minerals in them. My son and daughter are always picking up and collecting rocks from the places we go. I think they kind of associate the rock with the place or the time they spent with their family. When they find a special rock, if it has room, I will usually take a magic marker and write the date and place on it. for instance, Hubbard Park Castle 8/29/08. I don't know if the kids get the rocks for them or me. Sometimes when they are at their mothers I will look at a certain rock and it will bring back happy memories. |
