CLICK HERE TO SIGN-UPATTN: Parents and Students Sign-ups for our annual trip to the Gatlinburg Resurrection conference are now open!!! Attached below is a complete schedule of the weekend along with packing and contact info We are doing a couple of new things this year that I think you and your students are really going to like. When is the Trip? Jan 14-17th Where are we staying? http://hickorymist.com/ParadiseMountainPoolLodge.htm How much does it cost? $120 due by November 7th Why does the trip cost a little more this year? This year we want to simplify the trip for the students and for you, the parents. In past years we have allowed the students to eat out during their free time for most of the weekend, to the tune of 4 meals. This has always seemed like a glorious waste of money to me. Gatlinburg is so expensive. So instead, this year we will be eating all but 1 meal at our lodge. This should save you some money and some peace of mind knowing that your student is wandering around G'burg with a pocket full of cash ready to blow it on junk. We have a great facility with a huge gas grill and kitchen. We hope that the students will enjoy helping to prepare the meals as a youth group family. So what else is new with the trip? This years cabin has an indoor pool! How cool is that? And... we are staying an extra day because school is out on the Monday following the weekend. That's and extra 24 hours to enjoy good friends, good food, the movie theater in the lodge, the indoor pool, and the lodge's arcade. We will be in need of 4 Adult Sponsors to attend this trip. If you are interested please contact me ASAP because the spots are given on a first come first serve basis. |

We have received a great deal of sign-ups for the Hockey game this weekend, but with very little interest in the lock-in. Due to the very limited response to the lock-in we will be postponing the lock-in to a later date in the spring.
However, we will still be attending the Hockey Game this Saturday.
Everyone, both parents and students are welcome to attend the Hockey Game this Saturday. We will meet at church at 4pm to depart for the game. It is wiener dog race night at the Ice Bears game. We have gone in the past and it has been hilarious. The cost of attending the Hockey game is the same, $20. That cost includes a pregame pizza dinner, your ticket and travel to the game and back. We will be back in Kingsport around midnight.
We have 25 spots for the hockey game and will be taking reservations up until 12noon on Thursday. Please let me know ASAP if you wish to go.
I'm sorry for this change of schedule, but it will allow more students the attend the Lock-In at a later date this spring.
For students who have already signed up for the lock-in; if you wish to not attend the hockey game and receive a refund, they are available. Please contact me and we will get it done.

Packing List / Behavioral Guidelines / Contact Information
Money for the weekend ($40-50) :
Students will be responsible for 4 meals on their own (Saturday lunch and
dinner, Sunday lunch). Friday dinner (7pm) will be covered as well as
Saturday, Sunday breakfast, and Sunday dinner. Remember Gatlinburg is a tourist
trap that tends to be quite a bit more expensive than normal to eat. If
students wish to shop or participate in the various Gatlinburg attractions they
are responsible for paying for those expenses.
Packing:
We are staying in a luxury cabin so students do not need to pack any bedding.
All sheets, pillows, and comforters are provided. This is a huge lodge. If students wish, they are more that
welcome to bring their own pillow and sleeping bag, but it is not needed.
We will be standing outside for a large portion of time throughout the weekend,
waiting to get in our main session, shopping, or walking around Gatlinburg.
Students should prepare accordingly by dressing in layers that can easily be
removed once we're inside. In Gatlinburg there is always a chance of
snow/freezing rain so a weather resistant coat is a must.
Students should bring enough clothes for 2 1/2 days, and the appropriate
toiletries for the weekend. Showers are expected of all participants in this
trip. We also have a large hot tub on the porch of our cabin and students are
more than welcome to use it, but all bathing suits must be modest (nothing
smaller than a tankini). Boys can only use the hot tub with other boys and
the girls can only use the hot tub with other girls.
Do Not Bring/Do Not Buy:
- Drugs, alcohol, or
any weapons (including knives
-
Purchasing of
Airsoft Guns will be prohibited on the trip
-
Purchasing of any
knives, dart guns, or any other dangerous object are prohibited
Behavioral Rules:
All students are expected to act responsibly and within the established rules
once we begin the trip. The directions of Adults must always be followed. Student will not be allowed to simply
wander around Gatlinburg by themselves. All students will be required to travel in groups of no less
than 3 if they are in High School. All middle-schoolers will be required to
travel with an adult at all times. Each group must submit a cell phone number
where they can be reached at all times during Saturday's free time. Any deviation from these rules
will result in the immediate expulsion of the student(s) from the trip and
their parents will be required to come and pick them up immediately.
If you have any questions, concerns, or specific requests please feel free to email me.
Emergency Contact Info:
In the event of an emergency and you need to contact me, Shane Smith youth
director... here is my cell phone which will be on and with me at all time.
