Ok, I've watched it from beginning to end several times. If you all
notice, when he picks up the canister after impact, there are 2 sets of
holes in it, one hit at an angle through the side, entered and exit,
and the second went through the bottom (facing up on the bucket) and
out the side. This is the second shuriken that was holding it to the
door, where the tip WEDGED behind that cardboard. The one shuriken that
hit the concrete went straight through and glanced off the fence to the
ground.
Bear in mind, I am not taking sides here, merely reporting what I
observed. You can't see the second set of holes in it until he tears
the can open to expose the foil lining. You can see 3 distinct holes, 2
from the one shuriken, and one from the one that hit the bucket and
redirected (i.e. ricochet) to wedge behind the cardboard. Why he didn't
make it clear he was going to throw 2 shuriken simultaneously, I don't
know, but he did, and it is obvious that both penetrated the target.
