From Chopin to Steampunk:

How does the Victorian world inspire us?

Intense, story-driven Romantic classical music - Chopin, Berlioz, Mendelssohn and Schumann.
Inventions - steam engine locomotive, photography, telephone.
Fashions that influence Goth and Steampunk sub-cultures.
Writers - Poe, Shelley and Keats.
English country dances, waltzes and tea etiquette.
Industrial Revolution vs. the Romantics- the brain vs. the heart.

An Out of the Box Creative Learning SUMMER CAMP
 Camp Director: Rebecca Angel Maxwell         June 7-11      9am to 3pm       
Ages 8-14      $200 plus $25 for supplies. 
Old Songs Building 37 South Main St., Voorheesville

        Historic snack provided each day.  One hour lunch break (bring bag lunch.)
Equivalent to 25 hours of instruction ($8 per hour) - two hours per week, twelve week course in 19th Century History and Creative Arts.
