Defining New Destinies

Urgent need: Please help us reconstruct our building !

When the worst of life's disasters came upon Vetrichelvi and her two sisters more than ten years ago, the Children’s Home of Hope came to their aid. The three girls had been abandoned by their mother, had almost immediately lost their father and were left with no financial resources. That’s when the Children’s Home of Hope stepped in to give each of them a future of possibilities. Nurtured in the loving environment of the Home, two of the sisters went on to become nurses in reputed hospitals in Chennai, while the youngest is pursuing her undergraduate degree in Commerce.

The Children’s Home of Hope has been changing the destinies of children like Vetrichelvi for over thirty years.

Today, the home cares for over 100 children between the ages of four to 21.

What’s distinctive about us?

Every child at the Home is recognized as an individual with unique gifts and talents. The eight staff members who live with the children know their backgrounds and work to nurture their potential. Each child receives individual counseling and care.

Children like Gopal who was barely eight years old when his father murdered his mother and is now in prison. Or others like Rachel who in her 10 years at the Home has never had a single visitor. Thanks to the prayers and commitment of the staff, these children are recovering from the scars of the past and are encouraged to follow their passions.

Whether it is artistic talent or academic pursuits, each child is given the opportunity to grow. Many students are sent for higher education like B.Com. degrees, nursing, teachers’ training, laboratory technician courses and so on. Others are encouraged to take on vocational training in areas like tailoring and secretarial courses. All this culminates in job placements that make them self-reliant.
