"Chi Psi wants not parts of men, but men of parts: A fraternity which while it welcomes brain and brawn, demands breeding as an absolute accompaniment to both; A fraternity, the cornerstone of whose edifice is character and genuine, straight forward, full-rounded manhood. Chi Psi chooses her men not merely for college days but for life." - Brother Franklin B. Hussey (X 1882)
The Mission of Chi Psi

The above quote symbolizes the vision which Chi Psi has for her perspective members.  The Brothers of Chi Psi are constantly searching for qualified, well rounded gentlemen with which to share the bonds of brotherhood.  Chi Psi Fraternity is not merely an organization dedicated to increasing the quality of one's life while in college - but instead - we are committed to creating the bonds of friendship and brotherhood which transcend labels and last a lifetime.

What is Recruitment?

Recruitment, or rush, is the process by which fraternities meet and learn about potential members.  Recruitment occurs in two ways, open recruitment and formal recruitmentFormal recruitment is held by Clemson University's Inter Fraternity Council at the beginning of each semester.  For more information on formal recruitment, check out our calendar here.

Open Recruitment occurs anytime that is not during the week of formal recruitment.  We, at Chi Psi, value open recruitment very highly as it allows the brotherhood a greater chance to get to know potential new members.  If you have any questions DON'T HESITATE to contact our Rush Chairman at rstofan@clemson.edu.

What does Chi Psi look for?

As stated above, Chi Psi is not merely a guaranteed invite to parties on the weekends, but rather, a lifelong commitment to brotherhood.  The Brothers of Chi Psi are always searching for potential new members.  Members we consider contain most, if not all, of the following attributes:
  • Gentlemanly Attitude
  • Charismatic Personality
  • Academic Prowess
  • Athleticism
  • Dedication
  • A desire to better the community
