| July 14, 2008It has been some time since I have added an update to this blog, so I thought that I would do so. Things have been, hmmm, what is the best few words to describe our stay in April 24, 2008Hey Everyone, Well, as most of you know, the kids and I came to Sweden on the 6th of this month. The first week was a strike and miss with how tired we all were after that long flight and the out on how we felt with the time change. Now, we are doing fine and no longer have any more colds. Last week was the second week we here and the first time for me in Sweden without the kids. That was a long, tough week, but with great friends like Kent and Morgan, I stayed busy enough not to think about it. Sweden is not what I remember it, just because I am alone with the kids now. The people in the ward are still wonderful, but I am reminded each time I venture out that Swede´s in general are a pretty shy people. So, here´s for hoping. Here is my address and phone number in case anyone needs or wants it: Richard Myers Holdaway Kungshöjdsgatan 11A, 1:van. Läg. 1 Göteborg, Sweden 41124 011-46-708-633-932 I hope each of you are doing well. I will take some time in the near future when my computer is fixed to get some updated pictures on here. We are doing well and having a great time when we are all together. Talk to you later. April 2, 2008Hey everyone. The kids and I are leaving on April 6th, this next Sunday to Sweden. This will be a great thing for us. I am leaving my truck and bike with my parents and the rest of my stuff with my sister Minit and her hubby Barrett. What an awesome family I have. We had a little "birthday and goodbye" bash tonight for Enya, who turns 5 in May as well as us leaving. It was fun. Thanks everyone who came. Lots of love. Hit me back if anyone is reading this. February 18, 2008The kids just hopped a plane with their mother to Southern California for the week. I miss them tons already and it has only been a few hours. They will have a blast with her this week. As for leaving to Sweden, we most likely will not be leaving until the 1st of April or so. The ex and I are trying to figure a few things out. So, still here and still hanging on. Lots of love to anyone out there who has been reaching out to the kids and I. Big hugs to Mom and Dad Estes. February 4, 2008Wow, time flies! Well, the kids and I will be leaving back to Sweden around the 20th of February, after Trinity's birthday party. Yes, we are leaving and yes, this is my decision. I am sorry to those of you who feel this is not the best decision that I can make, but I guess that is why we all grow up! I have lost everything except my kids, so I am anxious for the day when I can look to each of you with happy eyes and say thanks for the love. Here is my contact info in Sweden, just in case any of you would like it: Richard Myers Kungshojdsgatan 11A, 1:a, Lag. 1 413 09 Goteborg January 13, 2007Well, I hope anyone reading this is doing ok! The latest news for the kids and I is the possibility of moving back to Sweden. I know, I know! All of your thoughts running through your heads right now and the feelings each of you have about this, so let me ease some of it. Although Nathalie and I are divorced, and God Bless us for that, we still both need to be a part of the children's lives. They are doing very well right now while being with me as their mother is in Sweden, but none the less, they still need us both. So, during a visit, I presented 4 options to Nathalie that I was 100% committed to, and asked of her to choose one. Well, out of the 4, she chose Sweden, but with that decision came a whole lot of stipulations. To this date, some are complete, and some are not. Oh, not to mention the thought in all your heads: WHAT THE HELL? YOU MOVE MORE THAN THE STARS IN THE SKY??? Remember, I am not married anymore! :) In Sweden, I have a good job there; a career, which is what my 30 year old body needs. Construction is fine and all, but not for me too much longer. The kids have a fantastic school, plus the opportunity to continue to strengthen their Swedish. I don't care about it anymore, but I still want it for them. The kids will be with me for two weeks at a time and with their mom for one. The church in Sweden needs strong members, and although now I wouldn't qualify under that category, at least I have something to shoot for. I have great friends there, (nothing can compete with Manteca, so I don't bother), I have a good boss who cares about the situation, and I get to come to the US every summer and Christmas and spend that time with my family. So, that is where we are at right now! I can't say there will be any more moving after this move, if it happens, but what I can say is that I have the children's best interests in mind! And no, I will never consider ever again marrying someone who isn't from the US. So, rest easy, whether you do or not, I am making the best decisions I can for my kids! I love them more than my own life! Onward and Upward! (No matter what: It will always be Myers-Holdaway-Stebbins-Estes)
Year of the Spider - COLD One X - Three Days Grace December 12, 2007I have just sent to most of my friends and family our little family Christmas Newsletter for 2007. If you are reading this and did not receive the letter, please click on the link below to read it! Hope this season is special to you in some way! I am looking to the sky for some happiness... December 05, 2007Well, it is official: Utah State Court has dubbed me a single man! I am divorced! Two thoughts come to mind: Sadness - Sad that I am a sad statistic; someone that didn't make the cut; someone who was involved in an experiment that failed; a statistic. Glad: Glad that I am free of the anger and sadness that was a big part of my marriage. We are both good people. We both have a lot to offer the world. It is just better that we are walking our own paths! Good luck Nathalie. May your life find joy and peace! As for me, I plan on working on me for awhile. I plan on working on the pain that I have lived since my two best friends left this earth prematurely. I plan on finding out more about myself and raising my head high. My kids need me around for a long time! I look forward to being healthy again... Oh and P.S. Just got back from seeing Dane Cook! HILARIOUS!!! http://youtube.com/watch?v=C2Hnb-AsYwQ December 02, 2007Wow! What a freaking crazy year this has all been! Yeah, things seemed to be working out ok when we went to Sweden, but shortly after, Nathalie and I decided to call it quits. For about 4 months, it has been a little rough, but we are on the same page now! So, in a week or two, according to Utah and Nathalie, our divorce will be official. I am sitting in my old bedroom at my parents home, surrounded by the stuff I could squeeze in here and my two children are in their beds, sleepy soundly across the hall. What a year, huh? Anyone stoked to move on? Me too! My niece Trinity passed away on Sept. 16th of this year, to add insult to injury! So, what can I say! I will be a bachelor soon, hopefully able to heal from so much sadness and anger! I anxiously watch the horizon for new, brighter days in the future! Cheers everyone! May 10, 2007Today we woke up to the sound of the landscapers taking care of business outside. What a beautiful morning we are having here in Southern California today. We are spending the rest of the week getting ready for a big huge garage sale we are having here at the house. Tomorrow is Enya's birthday and the lady who is making her cake was in the Food Networks' Cake Challenge last year: Let Them Eat Cake We are very excited. Out little big girl will be 4!! How crazy! Anyway, I hope you are all doing well. Seems like time flies so fast, that we hardly have control of what, who, when and where! You know? Anyway, God be with you all and remember you always have a friend in me! May 5, 2007Hey everyone! Sorry that there has not been any pics or updates in awhile. We have been squashed between the daily routines of life and everything else that comes with it. Today, we celebrated my sisters Mindy's 30th Birthday was a surprise bash in the park in Gilroy. We surprised her with a bunch of friends and family. Enya and Eli ate up the goodies, the sun and the huge park where they totally owned the playground! It was really fun watching Enya test each new toy on the playground before she invested too much time in trying to have fun with it! She is our smart little girl! There are some new pictures of the children from Enya's little birthday bash we had at Grammy's home. Even though her birthday isnt until the 11th of May, it gave us an opportunity to celebrate with family up here! Cake cake and more cake! Got any cake? April 10, 2007Wow, this past few days, the kids and I have been up at my parents cabin and my sisters home in Manteca. This is the weekend in a nutshell - You ready? 1. Drive up from So Cal with no problem. 2. Bike our hearts out with the kids in their trailers right behind Aunty Minit and Me all over Manteca. Old lady nearly takes out Aunty Minit and Trinny! 3. Go to the cabin; GAME ON!!! 4. Eli goes for a nature hike without anyone else! ELI???? Found him!!! 5. Enya decides she will brave Aunty Minits pool without anyone's help. Pappa jumps in after her with no hesitation. (Superman Theme Music) 6. Trinity goes into the Lucille Packard Children's Hospital for pre-op checks ups on her heart, lungs, ears, and esophogus. She rocks it! 7. Spend a few evenings at Grammy and Grandpa's home in Gilroy. So much fun, so little time! Hey, what can I say - This is who we are... April 1, 2007We went to the Harbor again yesterday and rented two kayaks to paddle around the bay in. Enya in one, and little man and I in the other. There is a super cute pic of the three of them on this page towards the bottom. We had a blast, and actually, the kids did amazingly well. We watched General Conference today. It was nice to hear the prophet speak again. It has been a relaxing day so far. Planning on going for a family bike ride tonight once the kids are up and at em! March 30, 2007My Ford F-350 is for sale: Check it out on this link: If you are interested, I am just transferring the lease. Let me know... March 29, 2007Went to Dana Point Harbor today and let the kids rock it on the beach. They had a blast. Check out the new pics on the "Family Of Us" page. That was super fun, followed up with a stroll through the Mission Viejo Mall. We had a good day today! I cant believe how fast time flies! It is spring and we are loving it. There is talk of us moving, but this time, it will be much more permanent. Hope all who are reading this are doing well and we send all our love! March 24, 2007Well, there is a caravan of stuff from our home in Utah that my parents and their friend, Gary Leosch, as bringing down in a large trailer. The Missionaries have come over the the home the last few days for service hours to help me organize the garage, preparatory for this stuff. I am stoked to finally have all of our junk in one place, and then show Ladera Ranch what a real garage sale is all about. Clothes for a buck, anyone? The kids are doing amazing. I need to get on this more with pictures and updates, huh? Gosh I'm lazy! We went to the beach in San Clemente twice this week and the kids just love it! Nathalie has a blast playing "skip the rock" and we all love the ocean breeze! February 28. 2007Hey Everyone! Well, the foot is feeling loads better and so are the spirits in all or us. This rain has been a pleasant surprise and has blessed the neighboring states with the water and snow they need. The family is doing well. I am here with the kids, getting the house put together for a fun week. We are hopefully going to Sea World on Friday, due to the fact that we have season passes. Its fun the kids and I get to have a Churros when I go! heh heh I just got a wonderful picture of my two best friends that passed away some time ago, which will be added to this page. If you want to see more pics, click on the link: The family of us. Want to send a huge "What Up" to the Detail Drywall Clan in Utah as well as the Family In Sweden. Much love... February 7, 2007The kids and I are still up here at my sisters home. We have tried to stay as long as I needed to stay off my foot. After Barretts b-day bash/Super Bowl party, we planned on headed south again, but problems with the flu bug arose and the kids have been been out of it for the last few days with the pukes and stuff. Poor munchkins! It is hard watching the two little ones, whom you love more than life itself, be in pain caused by the flu. I have stayed up late holding them and my sister has been the greatest nurse I have ever seen as she has assisted me in helping them back to health. We will be on the road (hopefully) tomorrow and head back to see Nathalie. How nice it has been to have my family help me get back on "my feet." heh heh... January 22, 2007I, along with the kids, came up to see Aunty Minit and Uncle Barrett (my sister and her husband) along with their daughter Trinity so that I could keep pressure off my foot for a full week or so. I think the stubburn man in me wants to keep pushing forward no matter how bad it hurts, but the Doctors voice inside me that says, "either keep off your foot, or have surgury to fix the bone" says enough! Nowhatimean?? The trip from LA to Sacramento took about 5 1/2 hours. The kids were great! Easy as pie to have and did such a fun job in the back seat watching their movies, snacking on snacks and talking to Pappa the whole way up about going to see everyone! They are exceptionally excited to see Grammy and Grandpa on Friday. This will be good for me! Nathalie is running the company in LA and was helpful enough to get me up here! January 19, 2007The weeks seem to pass pretty evenly. We received a letter from both our missionaries that are out right now. Elder Peter Gustafsson, in Alaska, says that he is happy and working hard to find those that are searching for the gospel. Elder Maynard, in Eugene Oregon, says that he is continually excited about being a missionary and having so much fun with his new companion. They are both shining examples of light in our family and we continually wish them the best. My foot is healing. I took a picture just for kicks of the bugger. It hurts like the dickens, but what can you do. I guess I need to stop break dancing in the street! January 11, 2007Well, there are many ironies in life, which is why we love living. On Tuesday, while I was preparing to go on a little road trip into LA with the kids, I was walking to the truck when I twisted my ankle slightly on the drive way. Well, thinking I could walk it off, I continued in my efforts. No sooner did I realize that something the size of a golf ball was popping up from my foot. Yesterday at the ER confirmed that I broke a bone in my foot. 6 to 8 weeks recovery? What? Stay at home Pappa with two kids and a broken foot? Heh heh! Such is life... Lets see, left Utah and a one story home and moved to Southern California into a three story town home! Irony? Sure is... January 7, 2007 (My fathers birthday)
Hello everyone! We are excited to see if this actually works. I have wanted to make a website for everyone in our family so others who are not living right here by us can see the growth of the kids and what we as a family are up to.
