Children brought up in the orphanage often fail to complete high school and are not able to get access to higher education. With no vocational skills, these children do not have a good future when faced with the intense competition and challenges from the society. Some children get involved in drugs and prostitutions. The Vocational Training Program for Older Orphans helps equip older children in the orphanages with vocational skills training and provides emotional guidance to enable these children to be independent and self-support.
l Who do we help? School drop-out orphans close or over 16 years old.
l How do we help? CWLC sets up a special education fund for these children and pay their tuition and monthly living expenses until they finish study by means of student loans. After their graduation, they are required to pay off their loans as to assist other students.
l What are subsidies: The average cost to sponsor a child for his/her tuition and living expenses is RMB 1,000 per month. Donation under 1000 per month is combined.
l How do donors get updated? The donation updates will be released on the website from time to time. The sponsor may call, write letters and visit the child to build stronger relationship.
l To join us, you can: 1. Be one or more children’s sponsor. 2. Donate necessary materials for them until they finish school. 3. Go to visit them and be their friends. 4. Be a child’s weekend foster family if your situation allows.
