Howard County Childrens' Chorus
Directors: Sharon Brown and Tasha Maglocci


Howard County Childrens' Chorus is an auditioned chorus of fourth and fifth graders with representation from the various public elementary schools in Howard County Public School System.  Students are challenged to learn a variety of music from various genres at an accelerated pace.  The chorus rehearses from September though May and performs two times a year.  Students who participate in this group must also participate in chorus at their elementary school.

Updated Information


Just a reminder to all parents and HCCC fourth and fifth grade students, there is no rehearsal on April 2nd or April 9th.  Regular scheduled rehearsals will continue on April 16th.

Our HCCC spring concert is coming up very quickly.  The students should work on memorizing their music and words over spring break.  We only have four more rehearsals to work together in order to prepare for the concert on May 6th.  Please remember that Mrs. Maglocci and Mrs. Brown have added a dress rehearsal on Wednesday, May 2nd at Northfield Elementary School from 7:00 - 8:30 pm.  It is very important that all students attend this final rehearsal.

Our spring concert is scheduled for Sunday, May 6th at 3:00 pm at Reservoir High School.  The students are reminded to wear short sleeve white shirts, dark pants, dark shoes, and dark socks.  The students will be asked to arrive at Reservoir High School at 1:30 pm.  Mrs. Maglocci and Mrs. Brown will have a short warm-up rehearsal with the students in the auditorium before the start of the concert.

Mrs. Maglocci and Mrs. Brown wish everyone a fun filled and safe spring break!!!!!! 

Also, please make sure that your children are getting to rehearsals on time (i.e. ten minutes early).  In addition, we would like to make a plea for better attendance.  We have been having between 8 and 12 students absent for each rehearsal and are feeling as though this is a little excessive.  Ideally we would like to have 3 or less students absent from each rehearsal.  Every time someone misses a rehearsal, it impacts the whole group.  Having said that, we understand fully that students do get very ill and there are at times, unavoidable conflicts.  We would just like to ask everyone to evaluate carefully whether or not these absences are truly warranted.  As a reminder, if a student is absent more than 3 times from HCCC, they will be asked to leave the group.  We love all the children at HCCC and do not want anyone to miss out on this fantastic experience.
