Student Guidelines:
Guideline #1: All school rules apply in this classroom.  Please read your handbook!

Guideline #2: All students are required to have their binder and a pen or pencil with them on class days (don’t bring them on lab days).

Guideline #3: Students are expected to come to class prepared everyday.  This means having the needed materials with you to complete tasks and assignments.  It also means coming to class having completed all pre-assigned homework/reading/etc.

Guideline #4: It is the responsibility of the student who is absent to see Mrs. Lawrence immediately upon their return to school.  This is so the student can get all of the work they missed, and get caught up on what was missed.  You have the days you are absent plus one to complete any missed work.  Assignments previously assigned are due as originally scheduled unless excessive medical sickness warrants an extension.

Guideline #5: Papers/work that is turned in must meet the following criteria:
·    They should have a heading (name, date, class and period)
·    All work turned in late due to an absence should be marked “Absent, # of days”
·    All late work should be marked “Late, # of days”
·    Papers must be neat and legible – If I cannot read it, I will not grade it.

Guideline #6: Assignments must be turned in on time at the start of the class period the day they are due.  Any assignments not completed and turned in on the due date are subject to a 10% grade reduction for each day late.  Once a full school week (5 school days) has passed, the highest grade you may receive on any assignment is 50% of the original grade.

Guideline #7: Lab Day Specifics:
a) Dress code is strict on preschool lab days.  No visible cleavage and no short skirts.  Pants must cover your front and behind.  Shirts that have language, symbols or pictures that might be offensive to a preschooler or parent of a preschooler are not allowed.
b) Behavior: you are expected to act as a positive role model in lab class.  If you are unable to do so, you may be removed from the classroom for the day with appropriate disciplinary action taken.
c) We are a team in here.  We need to be respectful of each other and our preschoolers.  Treat others how you would like to be treated.
d) Always take another big buddy with you when you bring your preschooler to the bathroom.  You are not responsible for assisting your preschooler with their clothing.  Please only one preschooler to a bathroom stall at a time.
e) Lab Day Absences: All excused and unexcused absences will result in a grade reduction unless you make up for those absences through alternate assignments.  See Mrs. Lawrence for specifics regarding making up absences.  Excessive absences may result in a failing grade for the course.

Please keep in mind that this syllabus is subject to change depending on time constraints and other issues that may arise during the quarter(s).
