Class participation will be graded 2x per quarter or 4 times per semester.

Attendance/Promptness:
5 = Student is ALWAYS prompt and regularly attends class.
4 = Student is late to class once every 2 weeks and regularly attends class.
3 = Student is late to class once a week and regularly attends class.
0 = Student is late to class every week and student’s attendance is inconsistent.

Level of Engagement in Class
5 = Student proactively contributes to class by offering ideas and asking questions three or more times per class.
4 = Student proactively contributes to class by offering ideas and asking questions twice per class.
3 = Student proactively contributes to class by offering ideas and asking questions once per class.
2 = Student rarely contributes to class by offering ideas and asking questions.
0 = Student never contributes to class by offering ideas and asking questions.

Listening Skills
5 = Student actively listens to others and builds off the input from others.
4 = Student always actively listens to others but doesn’t build off those ideas very often.
3 = Student usually listens to others but doesn’t build off those ideas very often.
2 = Student usually listens to others but never builds off the ideas of others.
0 =Student does not listen when others talk and sometimes interrupts when others are speaking.

Behavior
5 = Student never displays disruptive behavior in class.
4 = Student rarely displays disruptive behavior in class.
3 = Student occasionally displays disruptive behavior in class.
2 = Student often displays disruptive behavior in class.
0 = Student is repeatedly disruptive in class.

Preparation
5 = Student always comes to class with the required materials and assignments.
4 = Student usually comes to class with the required materials and assignments.
3 = Student rarely comes to class with the required materials and assignments.
0 = Student never comes to class with the required materials and assignments.
