AGC NYS Scholarship Applications Now Available ( Deadline May 15th, 2012)
The AGC NYS Scholarship Committee is now accepting applications for their undergraduate, graduate and diesel technology scholarship program. Since
1998 the program has awarded 448 scholarships worth over $900,000, to
students pursuing degrees in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology,
Construction Management and Diesel Technology. Last year, the
scholarship committee awarded 18 scholarships worth $44,750. With less

UTRC educational activities. AITE’s purpose is to increase the
knowledge and capabilities of transportation professional through
education in transportation and related fields. A major part of the
AITE program is providing scholarships to young people, both those that
are just starting their careers and those who are already working in the
transportation field who want to increase their knowledge and skills.

NYMTC/UTRC September 11th Memorial Program for Regional Transportation Planning
Academic Initiative (DEADLINE: APRIL 23rd, 2012)
The program was established to educate and motivate people
interested in transportation technology and planning and to encourage innovations in planning
activities throughout the NYMTC region. The Program's Academic Initiative is designed to
foster the academic and professional development of students by providing them with
opportunities to participate in innovative research and planning projects. It is administered by

Civil Engineering Departmental Scholarships: Be on the lookout for the scholarships offered through the civil engineering department. Typically in September for the fall semester, or in January for the spring semester! A notice will be e-mailed to you from the department when they become available!

- The ASCE Met Section Scholarship The Met Section is currently accepting applications for $2,500 and $5,000 scholarship awards that will be presented at the Scholarship Luncheon in April. Scholarship candidates must be a ASCE Student Member or a high school student attending or registered to attend a college within the Met Section's geographical boundaries (or a child of a Met Section member if they are enrolled in a college outside of the Met Section). - Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America Scholarship The Chapter awards more than a dozen $2,500 scholarships each July. Applicant must be entering the 2nd, 3rd or 4th year of a two- or four-year college. Applicant must be seriously intent upon a career in the building/highway construction industry. Applicant must pursue a Bachelor or Associate degree in construction or civil engineering and have at least a 2.50 GPA. Students must reapply each year up to three years of undergraduate study; many of our winners each year are repeat winners. Graduate students are also eligible for a one-year scholarship if they are studying full time for an advanced construction-related and are intent upon a career in the industry. The Colin Powell Leadership and Public Service Fellowships All undergraduates and graduates at CCNY are able to apply for the prestigious Colin Powell fellowships offered through the Colin Powell Center for Policy Studies. The program is open to high-achieving CCNY students in any field of study. It is a multifaceted two-year experience (one year for graduate fellows) that enables students to develop a deep understanding of policy concerns and public problems and the leadership skills to address them. The program includes substantial scholarship support (between $10,000 and $12,000) for two years, assuming students remain in good standing. The program also provides a stipend for a public service-related summer internship. - The ASCE New Jersey Section Scholarship Two Scholarships of $2000 each are being offered by the NJ Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Each applicant must submit a hard copy by April 9th. The Scholarship is to support continuing full-time enrollment during the 2010-2011 academic year. To be eligible, you must be either a member of the NJ section of the ASCE student chapter (CCNY is the Met section), or be an out of state ASCE member with their legal home address in New Jersey. You must be planning to return to school full-time for next year. No more than three students may apply for the award each semester. - AfterCollege Scholarship The AfterCollege team is awarding a $500 scholarship every quarter to a student who is seeking a bachelors, masters or doctorate in the field of Engineering or Computer Science. Click here for more information!
- New York Metro Section of American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) Scholarship The Section is proud to continue its tradition of reaching out to the local engineering schools to offer scholarship awards to bright students interested in the field of Civil Engineering who show exceptional leadership and character. This year the Section will be offering several scholarships (total amounts based on total funds raised by the time of the award (usually $1,000-$1,500). Attached you will find the guidelines for the scholarship applications. In order to be eligible, the applications must be received by May 1, 2010. All awards will be given out at the May ASHE Technical meeting.(Recommended! Low applicant pool)

- The Greater New York New Jersey Chapter of Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) Scholarships Scholarship application materials are now available for the 2010-2011 academic year.
- Applications are being accepted for the following awards available to graduate and undergraduate students pursuing their education or residing in the New York and New Jersey:
- Leonard Braun Memorial Graduate Scholarship for $3000 awarded to encourage women to pursue career paths in transportation. The local winner may advance to the national Helen M, Overly Memorial Scholarship competition.
- Susan Miszkowicz Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship for $2500 awarded to encourage bright new professionals to undertake careers in transportation. The local winner may advance to the national Sharon D. Banks Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship competition.
- Molitoris Leadership Scholarship for Undergraduates for $2500 is awarded to a woman that demonstrates leadership skills, ability and interest in the field of transportation. The local winner may advance to the national Molitoris Leadership Scholarship competition.
- The GNY Chapter is also accepting applications for the national Presidential Legacy Scholarship. Although there is no local award for this graduate-level leadership scholarship, we will advance one local applicant to the national competition.
- Eligible applicants must be female, maintain a GPA of 3.00 or better, enrolled in or accepted to a degree program in a transportation related field in New York or New Jersey, plan for a career in transportation, and any other specific criteria as noted on the individual application forms. - AISC Scholarships & Fellowships Apply online to compete for a number of $2500, $3000, and $5000 scholarship awards through the American Institute of Steel Construction. The AISC Education Foundation Scholarships and Fellowships are available to undergraduate juniors and seniors and Master’s level graduate students in civil and architectural engineering programs. Applicants must be full-time students and U.S. citizens.
