The alumni group consists of Civil Engineers from the class of 1949 up until the class of 2000. We started in 1994 by one alumnus reaching out to six students each year till 1996, in order to share his experiences with the current City College Civil Engineering Students. In 1997 a group of about twelve additional alumni from the classes of 1950, 51 and 52 decided to give back to CCNY C.E. students and joined the lone alumnus to form the Civil Engineering Alumni Group [CEAG].
Our objective is to enhance the civil engineering program by sharing our varied experiences. The group provides essential information on how students can successfully enter the profession and adapt to the changing expectations of a modern engineer, as well as how students can become more engaged in their communities and work towards career advancement. We accomplish these objectives through hosting seminars and workshops, providing professional advice and guidance during mock job interviews, and giving presentations and discussions on the merits of various careers available to young engineers, especially on the decision to work as a design or construction engineer.
The alumni group is comprised of engineers in design, construction and their subspecialties in addition to education, environmental and management. We are currently seeking additional members to help carry on this program.
