CCH PREPARES KIDS FOR LIFE IN THE CIRCUS The circus has come to town for children living in Longfield Avenue in Coppull, near Chorley. Kids in the area are being invited to learn how to juggle and walk on stilts as part of a programme of activities at the Longfield Community Hub. The sessions, which have been organised by Chorley Community Housing (CCH) and Chorley Council, take place from the beginning of October. A range of different classes will be on offer, from circus skills training through to cookery classes. There will also be a chance for children to join in with others in playing board games, or just to sit and do some homework. Charlie Barlow, Resident Involvement Officer with CCH, said: “There’s something for all the children in what we have planned. There’ll be pizza making for kids as young as three, while the circus skills training will give children a chance to learn how to spin plates, walk on stilts and juggle. Charlene said: “Places on all the activities are free but places are strictly limited so if anyone is interested in taking part in one of the activities they need to contact Charlotte Sweeney or myself on 01257 244800.” The programme of weekly events is as follows: Tuesdays 4pm – 5.30pm: fun and games for children aged 5 to 11 Wednesdays 4.30pm to 6pm: circus training sessions for children aged 5+ Thursdays 5pm to 6.30pm: cooking lessons for children aged 3+ Akshaya Patra Charity for Kids
