Startup roadmap

  1. Develop a simple app that you would use daily, keep it very simple, but deploy it to Android Market and keep upgrading it afterwards
  2. If you need to take a few days of vacation to write your application, demand for Android skills is so high, it will be worth the investment
  3. If you live in a country where there is no Android Market, ask Uki@ChicagoAndroid.com for help
  4. Update your ChicagoAndroid.com website profile frequently with your new skill set and good photo
  5. Improve your skills; at this point if you are interested in Android jobs, let Uki@ChicagoAndroid.com know.
  6. If your idea gets some popularity add advertisements (AdMob), or create a PRO version of your app for sale
  7. Make sure we promote your app on ChicagoAndroid.com, it is a very popular Website
  8. If your application seem successful, consider creating a start-up, get to know Uki@ChicagoAndroid.com very well, he can connect you to right people including businessmen and investors
  9. Keep in mind that investors are interested in ideas only if you can prove that there is a significant market for your product
  10. Take investor money only if you cannot grow your start-up organically thru sales
  11. Stay connected, the best people are very busy so you will have to try very hard to get their time and attention, but it is worth it.
  12. Don't do it alone by yourself, very few succeed that way, partner up with people who have done it before.
