Installing Ubuntu

This is a guide to installing our flavor of Ubuntu on the ChesTech Lab Computers.
  1. Download the newest version of Ubuntu at www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download
  2. Burn the disc image (.iso) to a CD and install Ubuntu on the computer
  3. Once Ubuntu has been installed, copy the ChesTechInstaller.tar file to the desktop (get it here)
  4. Right click on the icon and select "Extract Here"
  5. Open a terminal and navigate to ~/Desktop/ChesTechInstaller/
  6. run ./ChesTech-Installer.sh
  7. You will be prompted for your sudo password -- enter the password you used for the install
  8. When java is being installed, you have to accept the end user agreement -- press tab to select OK/Yes and press enter
  9. During the XP Theming, you will be prompted to install the theme (Press OK) and add the theme to the login screen. Since we're bypassing the login process, just close this
  10. And we're done!
