Specker Damien Mulley from IT@CORK This week's it@cork iPhone Apps event at Cork Internationa Airport Hotel, Cork Airport re-established Ireland's strong connection with Apple by showing how building software to be installed on iPhones is a huge market. The event, with almost 90 people in attendance had three experienced speakers talk about the multiple possibilities for the iPhone. Apple's iPhone has now created a platform and distribution system allowing developers to build applications and games which can be purchased and downloaded on to the iPhone. So far over 1 billion applications and games have been downloaded on to iPhones.Cork, always associated with Apple recently saw University College Cork become the first university in Ireland to become part of the iPhone University Developer Programme and plans to incorporate it into two of its courses.
