The Crown Heights Unites Coalition: looking for solutions to better our community
Crown Heights Unites (home) About CHUC 2008 Summer Solutions Job & Resource Fair | The Crown Heights Unites Coalition was created in January 2007 in response to escalated violence in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. We are a grassroots organization established The Office of Assemblyman Karim Camara and a diverse group of community leaders and local individuals to combat persistent crime, youth violence and social disorder.
DAY OF UNITY AND REMEMBRANCE Saturday, September 13, 2008, 12pm-5pm Day of Unity and Remembrance will feature music, speakers, inspiration, activities, and resources. The day’s events will close with a ceremony remembering and honoring victims of violence in our community. We are confident that this event will not only be poignant, but a way to bring many residents together We are urging everyone to join the letter writing campaign in opposition to the proposal to bring an intake center to the Bedford-Atlantic Armory. We believe this plan will be disasterous for both the homeless it is meant to serve and for our community |
