Jack Mauldin writes---- Your buck is a very powerful looking buck with lots of muscle. We like that. The biggest down side is the long hair on his front even though it is not a major negative; it will be a distraction if he passes it on to his kids. The problem with the long hair is related to the quality of the hide. We have been told that the finer and shorter the hair, the better quality the hide is for making leather. I can’t tell if he is short but he looks like he might be shorter than some of the average bucks these days. I personally don’t find any negative financial justification for shorter animals. Some of the earlier well known bucks were shorter. Here is a picture of one that was called Hunk and he won a lot of shows in his time. I think your buck looks better than Hunk. Other than those few things, I like the power your buck shows.
