Sports Day & Dad's Day

Friday 9th July
, is our annual Sports Day, in conjunction with Dad's Day. The sporting activities kick off in the afternoon on the Junior school sports field. The volunteer dads will be helping and assisting with the demonstration of each game and score keeping at each activity. This is our third and final Dad's Day event for the year and we send our appreciation to all Dad's that have taken part in any of the activities.

Sunny Skegness

Tuesday 29th June, 49 Year 2 children, as part of their Seaside topic, went on an educational field trip to the Skegness, to experience the seaside first hand.










The children thoroughly enjoyed their day on the beach at sunny Skegness, with activities including, sand sculpture competition, donkey rides and paddling in the sea, alongside observational tasks.   

All helpers and teachers remarked on how well behaved and engaged with the tasks the children were throughout the trip, which made it a pleasurable day at the seaside.  


Dad's Day

Friday 26th March.

Willing and available fathers from every class in the school generously gave their time to aid and assist children with their class design and technology projects today.
All children and staff would like to say 'Thank you'.

International Week

Commencing week beginning 22nd March.


Our school took part in activities relating to other countries including, China, America and  Africa and India. Musicians, dancers and craft artists made a visit to the school, and demonstrated their cultural knowledge of music and dance etc.to all the children.
Everyone, from Nursery through to Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed the week.
Mrs. Powers, our school cook and her team also joined in by presenting dinners from the countries we studied.  

Erewash Schools Dance Festival

8th July
up to 30 year 2 children will have the chance to take part on stage to display two dances they have worked on in the  Spring Term's curriculum dance lessons.One dance number will be from the Musical Grease, and the  other performance will be in the style of 'Bollywood". This is a festival for fun, not a competition.
Parents of participating children will be offered places in the audience to watch the festival.

Heart Foundation Sponsored Event

To raise funds for both the school and Heart foundation, Reception and KS1 will be training in June to improve their skipping skills. Thursday 1st July, parents are welcome to come and watch the event.

Spring Football Skills Day

On Monday May 10th, Reception & KS1 will have the opportunity to learn and improve their football skills when coaches from Nottingham Forest, come and deliver a host of fun games and activities

Reception & KS1 - "Crawford's Drama Academy"

National Science Week

Monday 15th March, Key Stage 1 and Reception took  part in National Science Week. Children investigated a variety of concepts, experiments and discoveries.

Miss Rice is currently running after school science clubs for the next 3 terms, for more exciting discoveries and investigations.
