At Chaucer Infant and Nursery School we are very proud to participate in the Eco-Schools Environmental management System. Eco-schools is a worldwide initiative and award scheme which actively promotes environmental awareness in schools. We are now proud to announce that we have achieved the Green Flag Award. in recognition for working towards a sustainable lifestyle.

September 2009 saw members of the Gardening Club, under the supervision of Mrs. Wojtania, receive a 2nd place trophy from Erewash In Bloom, for their efforts in and around the school grounds. Previous projects with The Wildlife Trust, included creating a natural meadow site in the Nursery Gardens along with a Bug Hotel for a variety of minibeasts, a hedgehog home, several bird nesting boxes and bird feeders.

A big 'Well Done' and 'Thank you' to all  children who have been involved over the past few years and their parents ofcourse, as well as other staff members. Without all your help and enthusiasm this great recognition would not have been possible.
