Charmeuse Pajamas

A lightweight fabric with a satin weave that is softer and clingier than satin and less voluminous than silk finishes. Charmeuse, which is lustrous on one side and dull on the other, can be made with silk, polyester, or rayon. This is a slinky, slippery fabric.

A soft, silky dress fabric

Charmeuse is a lightweight fabric woven with a satin weave, where the warp threads cross over three or more of the backing (weft) threads. The front side of the fabric has a satin finish - lustrous and reflective - whereas the back has a dull finish.

A luxurious, supple, silky fabric with an extremely shiny face and a dull back, similar to satin but lighter in weight. Usually made from rayon or cotton, but premium varieties are made from silk.

Thursday, June 25th 2009. Today up until lunch I was cutting this fabric , which I love and I just amazingly beautiful, but is a bitch to work with. Basically it hates fabric pencils and will tend to move at the slightest touch. Anywho this fabric is for the character Marina in Pericles. So it literally looks like water with sea coral underneath. It is a hand-painted Silk Charmeuse. After I had finished cutting the fabric I noticed that there were all these little skills that appeared on the fabric. I could not stop laughing it was like hey there are skulls on this beautiful fabric. Can you see it in the picture?
